Support for households severely damaged by lightning strikes

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - The functional forces of Yen Khuong commune are assisting the family of Mr. Vi Van Luan, Tu Chieng village, to move their belongings after being struck by lightning, causing serious damage.

Mr. Vi Van Luan's house was severely damaged after being struck by lightning.

On the afternoon of July 14, Mr. Le Quang Tung, Chairman of Yen Khuong Commune People's Committee, said that at around 11:00 p.m. on July 12, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms, whirlwinds, and lightning occurred in the commune.

During the heavy rain, a lightning strike hit the house of Mr. Vi Van Luan (born 1990), residing in Tu Chieng village, causing the entire electrical wiring system and lighting equipment in the house to burn out; other items such as door panels, roof, refrigerator, TV, rice cooker... were seriously damaged. Estimated property damage was about 150 million VND.

Many appliances in the house were damaged.

Fortunately, no one in Mr. Luan's family was home at the time. He and his wife were working far away, and their two children were staying at their grandmother's house.

It is known that Mr. Luan's family's house has just been supported with 40 million VND to renovate the house according to Directive No. 22-CT/TU.

After the incident, the People's Committee of the commune sent functional forces to support the family.
