Ky Son spiral sticky rice is a traditional glutinous rice variety of indigenous origin, maintained, preserved and cultivated by farmers in Tan Trao commune, Kien Thuy district, Hai Phong (now Kien Hung commune). The glutinous rice product has a unique spiral grain shape, is characteristically sticky and fragrant, and is favored by the local and regional markets, used in holidays, weddings and as gifts. Ky Son spiral sticky rice is cultivated in the crop season with a total area of nearly 400 hectares/790.9 hectares of rice growing area of Kien Hung commune, with an average yield of 45 quintals/ha, worth nearly 60-70 million VND/ha/crop.
According to the representative of the host unit, the goal of the task is to enhance the reputation, value and competitiveness of the product, the effectiveness of management, exploitation and development of the collective brand "Ky Son spiral sticky rice", creating sustainable livelihoods for farmers in Kien Hung commune, promoting local socio-economic development.

Accordingly, the tasks are to clarify the following contents: Assess the current status of production and product consumption market, manage, exploit and develop the collective brand "Ky Son spiral rice"; Build a model for managing, exploiting and developing the collective brand; Operate the model for managing, exploiting and developing the collective brand; Develop the market for Ky Son spiral rice products; Strengthen and improve the capacity of actors participating in the model for managing, exploiting and developing.

The Council members focused on exchanging, discussing and giving many comments to the research team to supplement and complete the task. The Council suggested that it is necessary to improve the legality, clarify the scientific basis and practical basis of the task, and supplement the capacity appropriate to the functions and tasks of the participating units.
At the end of the Conference, the Advisory Council unanimously approved the research task, requesting the Hai Phong Center for Innovation and Application of Science and Technology to seriously absorb comments, edit and complete the dossier in accordance with regulations for the Department of Science and Technology to submit to the City People's Committee for approval and implementation in the coming time./.
