Halal standards are a set of strict Islamic regulations that primarily relate to food and beverages, but also apply to other products such as cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and services. The standards ensure that products and manufacturing processes meet the requirements of Sharia (Islamic law).

Mr. Pham Viet Hung, Deputy Director of Hai Phong Department of Science and Technology, spoke at the Conference.

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Pham Viet Hung, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, said: The global Halal market is growing strongly, has a profound influence and is an important trend in international trade. Halal products not only meet domestic consumption needs but also open up great export opportunities to Muslim countries, where Halal standards are considered a prerequisite for market access. Therefore, updating the latest Halal policies, regulations and standards, and raising awareness and knowledge for businesses and production and business establishments is extremely necessary. The Conference aims to create a solid foundation, helping businesses access and understand domestic and international policies and regulations, while promoting effective cooperation and connection between production, business and service establishments in the Halal field.

Mr. Tran Dang Khoa, Vice Chairman of the National Resettlement Committee, Ministry of Science and Technology, said: The Halal market is not simply a story of religion, but has become a sustainable development trend, linking ethical values, product quality with global consumer trust. Halal is a system of values, consumer trust, and a commitment of the manufacturer to ethical standards, technology, transparency and respect for people. Developing Halal in Vietnam requires innovation in management, improving quality control capacity, building a reliable certification system, and at the same time connecting with modern digital technology trends. Developing the Halal industry cannot be done quickly, cannot be done carelessly, but also cannot stand aside.
