Dong Thap: Fire at Binh Hang Tay market, 9 kiosks burned down

On October 12, Dong Thap province authorities were calculating the damage and investigating the cause of the fire at nine kiosks at Binh Hang Tay market.

According to initial information, at about 1:30 a.m. the same day, a large fire broke out at Binh Hang Tay market (Binh Hang Trung commune, Dong Thap province), burning down 9 kiosks of small traders.

People discovered a fierce fire in the middle of the market, where kiosks selling fabrics, clothes, school supplies and fruits were located, so they helped put out the fire and reported it to the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, the Dong Thap Provincial Police Fire Fighting and Rescue Team mobilized many specialized vehicles and more than 20 officers and soldiers to the scene. This area contained many flammable materials, the fire spread quickly and rose high, making firefighting difficult. After more than 20 minutes of effort, the fire was completely extinguished.

Initial investigation determined that the incident did not cause any human casualties, but 9 kiosks with a total area of ​​about 125 square ^meters were completely burned down, and many properties and goods were severely damaged.

Immediately after the fire, leaders of Binh Hang Trung Commune People's Committee were present at the scene to direct the recovery work, coordinate with functional forces to investigate the cause and visit and encourage affected traders.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the police.
