Beauty Queen Nguyen Thi Phuong returns to Vietnam women's volleyball team

The list of Vietnam women's volleyball team preparing for the second round of SEA V-League 2025 at home has only one change with the return of main striker Nguyen Thi Phuong.

In the first round of SEA V-League 2025, Nguyen Thi Phuong was not on the official list of 14 athletes. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet surprised everyone by registering 3 Liberos. However, the list in the second round of SEA V-League has changed with the return of the 26-year-old striker. The eliminated player is Libero Ninh Anh.

The return of Nguyen Thi Phuong helps coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet have more options for the attack. In 2025, the main striker of the Information Corps showed good performance, leaving a professional mark at the club and in the national team .

In the first leg, Nguyen Thi Phuong was not on the list but still went with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team to Thailand. She and her teammates learned many lessons, thereby having the best preparation for the "return leg" at home.

On the afternoon of August 4, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team returned to Vietnam from Thailand. Immediately after returning home, Thanh Thuy and her teammates traveled to Ninh Binh to start training, preparing for 3 matches against the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand.

The highlight of the second round of the SEA V-League is still the match between Vietnam and Thailand. In the first round, despite losing, the Vietnamese girls won 2 sets for the first time on the opponent's field. This result, along with the confidence of the athletes, is the basis for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet to believe that the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will get revenge on Thailand in Ninh Binh.

Stage 2 of the SEA V-League took place from August 8-10 in Ninh Binh. In stage 1, Bich Tuyen and her teammates won the runner-up position, in addition to 3 individual titles: Excellent Middle Blocker (Bich Thuy), Excellent Libero (Khanh Dang) and Excellent Opposite (Bich Tuyen).
