Nguyen Tat Thanh extended road is the main road connecting Cam Ranh peninsula, Cam Ranh International Airport with Cam Ranh city in particular and the southern provinces in general. Currently, Nguyen Tat Thanh road from Cam Ranh International Airport to Long Ho bridge was built more than 50 years ago and is now degraded. The current road surface is only about 8m wide, not in sync with the section from the foot of Cu Hin pass to Cam Ranh International Airport, so it cannot meet the travel needs of people and tourists. Faced with this situation, many years ago the Provincial People's Committee had a policy to allow investment in the Nguyen Tat Thanh Road Project from Cam Ranh airport to Long Ho bridge.

According to the leader of the Management Board of the Provincial Agricultural and Transport Construction Investment Project (project investor), the Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula area is one of the areas with favorable traffic conditions by both road and air... These are favorable conditions for developing a large-scale integrated tourism area, in which the strengths are marine ecotourism and high-class resorts. Currently, this area is developing strongly with many resorts of regional scale. To meet transportation needs, increase traffic capacity, and minimize traffic safety, investment in expanding the extended Nguyen Tat Thanh route is very necessary.
At the end of October 2024, the Nguyen Tat Thanh Road Project from Cam Ranh Airport to Long Ho Bridge officially started construction. The project has a total length of 3.1km, starting at km31+057 (in front of Cam Ranh International Airport), ending at km34+175 (Long Ho Bridge intersection) with a total investment of nearly 100 billion VND. According to the design, this road section has a planned boundary of 36m wide, of which the road surface is 16m wide, the median strip is 8m wide, and the two sides are 12m wide. The project is invested by the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board; the consortium of T27 Consulting Joint Stock Company and ETNT Company Limited is the survey and construction design contractor; Khanh Hoa Traffic Management and Construction Joint Stock Company is the construction contractor; the consortium of T27 Consulting Joint Stock Company and Viet Long Technology Development Company Limited is the construction supervision contractor.
Mr. Doan Tung Lam - Deputy Director of the Provincial Management Board of Investment and Construction of Agricultural and Transport Works said that the Nguyen Tat Thanh Road Project from Cam Ranh Airport to Long Ho Bridge has been completed by the contractor and allowed to open to traffic (only a few small items remain to be processed). The Board is completing the procedures for project acceptance. Nguyen Tat Thanh Road, which has been invested and completed from the foot of Cu Hin Pass to Long Ho Bridge, plays an important role in gradually completing the traffic infrastructure according to the planning, meeting the travel and freight transport needs of the people, contributing to promoting the socio -economic development and tourism development of Cam Ranh City, Cam Lam District and neighboring areas. The project coming into operation increases the connectivity between Nha Trang City and Cam Ranh City, creating a complete traffic network for the area, contributing to promoting the strong development of the Northern Cam Ranh Peninsula Tourist Area.
