Completion of the Project to Repair the Memorial Monument of Go Cong Provincial Party Committee Base

(ABO) On July 23, Party Secretary and Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Xuan Ward, Huynh Tuan Dung, said that the Project to Repair the Memorial Monument of the Go Cong Provincial Party Committee Base (located in Binh Xuan Ward) has just been completed and put into use.

The memorial stele of the Go Cong Provincial Party Committee base was built in 1996 and was recognized as a provincial historical and cultural relic in 2000. This was an important base of revolutionary activities, a place to lead the army and people in the Mau Than Spring Offensive of 1968, successfully attacking the inner city of Go Cong, attacking the Provincial Governor's Palace, breaking into a large prison and freeing over 200 prisoners, causing a stir in public opinion. The battle caused confusion and panic among the enemy forces in Go Cong, and had an important meaning in the resistance war against the US to save the country of the army and people of Go Cong.

The project to repair the memorial stele of the Go Cong Provincial Party Committee base was invested with a total investment of 4.7 billion VND. The scale of construction investment includes the following items: Renovation and repair of the memorial stele; construction of a new management house and toilet; ceremony yard and parking lot; trees, grass; leveling; overall electrical system; overall water supply and drainage system.

The restoration of the Go Cong Provincial Party Committee Base Memorial Monument helps future generations understand more about the heroic historical tradition of the locality; educate the revolutionary tradition for the younger generations about the history of the Vietnamese people's struggle against foreign invaders and the patriotism of their ancestors.
