After the traditional opening ceremony, from 8:00 a.m. this morning, along with more than 52,000 educational institutions nationwide, more than 995,000 teachers and students from 1,517 schools across Nghe An province participated in the online opening ceremony broadcast live from the National Convention Center.
The 2025-2026 school year is the year the whole country implements the Politburo 's Resolution on breakthroughs in education and training development and amended laws in the field of education and training.
This is the first school year to integrate and synchronously implement major policies of the Party and State to make fundamental and comprehensive breakthroughs and sustainably develop education and training in Nghe An province.

Along with that, continue to focus on implementing fundamental and comprehensive innovation in education and training associated with implementing the Education Development Strategy; Resolution on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation; responding to international integration in the new situation.
This school year, the sector is taking the lead in implementing education policies in the context of a two-level local government: free tuition; universal education for preschool children from 3 to 5 years old; gradually making English the second language in schools; teaching Lao to students in border areas; and implementing the Law on Teachers.

Nghe An is one of the localities heavily affected by the recent storms No. 3 and No. 5. In particular, the historic flood caused by storm No. 3 that occurred at the end of July caused more than 50 schools to be severely damaged; many teaching equipment, desks, chairs, books, and supplies were completely damaged. Many teachers' families also had their houses and property swept away.
Immediately after the flood, the Nghe An education sector launched a "school helping school" campaign to clean up, repair damage, and provide support for facilities and teaching equipment. The Nghe An education sector also mobilized more than 3 billion VND from various sources to support schools and families of staff and teachers who suffered heavy losses due to floods.
On August 7, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee also agreed on the plan to allocate 300 billion VND to support overcoming the consequences of natural disasters caused by storm No. 3, from the central budget; of which, 50 billion VND will be allocated to support the repair and construction of new school facilities and purchase of teaching equipment.
