Specialized school students officially study separate programs from October 15

Circular 22 of the Ministry of Education and Training regulating advanced education programs for specialized subjects in specialized high schools has just been announced.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, in the context of the country promoting innovation, digital transformation and deep international integration, the development of high-quality human resources, especially talented and highly qualified human resources, has become urgent. The issuance of an advanced education program with a clear orientation is the foundation to ensure quality, consistency and long-term strategic orientation for key education.

This is also a necessary step to standardize, improve quality and ensure fairness in specialized education nationwide.

For decades, specialized schools have developed their own programs, failing to ensure consistency in teaching organization between localities and educational institutions.

The advanced program of the Ministry of Education and Training is designed for 15 specialized subjects including: mathematics, literature, physics, chemistry, biology, information technology, history, geography, English, French, Japanese, Korean, German, Russian and Chinese. The subject content contains topics approaching national and international content of interest, meeting the requirements of key training, talent selection and national and international competitions for excellent students.

The duration of the advanced program for literature, math and foreign language is 70 periods/school year, the remaining subjects are 52 periods/school year.

In particular, natural science subjects are enhanced with practical and experimental content, promoting the exploitation of information technology and orienting students to specialize in exploiting and using artificial intelligence (AI). Literature subjects have additional topics on presentation, rhetoric, and debate on literary and social issues.

The Ministry's wish when issuing the program is that specialized students will develop their ability to think logically, creatively, critically, develop their ability to self-study, research, and present academically, as well as ensure their ability to participate in national and international competitions for excellent students.

At the same time, the program also creates an early training foundation for potential human resources in key areas such as science - technology, innovation, social research, economics - finance, diplomacy and elite education.
