Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Major General Tran Minh Phong, Deputy Director of the Academy, said: 2023 is the second year that the Military Medical Academy has organized the Healthy and Skillful Student Contest. This is one of the key activities in the series of activities to celebrate Youth Month for cadres, union members , and youth of the academy.
The competition demonstrates the quality of physical training, closely combining study and practice of military medical students at the academy in recent years. At the same time, it is also a useful playground, helping students of all courses have the opportunity to exchange, learn, accumulate experience, strengthen solidarity and attachment during the learning process.
Through the contest, we contribute to promoting the movement of studying and physical training in the academy, meeting the requirements and tasks of the academy and the Army in the new period, successfully carrying out all tasks, and building the academy to be increasingly standardized and exemplary.
Also at the contest, Major General Tran Minh Phong requested leaders and commanders of agencies, units, faculties and departments to continue to pay attention and create more favorable conditions for the young generation in the coming time, especially for the team of students, those who are rich in intelligence, eager to learn, enthusiastic in studying and training. Along with that, organize many practical and useful playgrounds for union members and young people to participate, turning the contents of today's contest into regular activities of the academy's youth.
At the competition, 6 teams went through 3 competitions: Strength competition (100m relay for both men and women, 50m sack race relay for men and women, pull-up bar); skill competition (hand hygiene techniques, wearing sterile gloves; incision and cutting skills; clamping and infusion skills; suturing skills) and comprehensive competition (changing uniforms, overcoming obstacles, bandaging wounded soldiers and transferring wounded).
Assessing the results of this year's competition, Colonel Doan Van Mau, Deputy Head of Political Department of the Military Medical Academy, affirmed: Despite the short time and many competition contents, the contestants of the teams have shown that they are truly excellent members, well-prepared, with a solid physical foundation and knowledge, confident, enthusiastic, and responsible. This has a decisive meaning for the quality of this competition.
In the end, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 2 consolation prizes, and 2 encouragement prizes.
