Notably, right after the end of the National Championship, the teams will have 2 months of training to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games, including a training trip to Japan for about 25 days.

General Secretary of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation Le Tri Truong said that the overseas training program has been developed by the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, based on the proposal of the coaching staff of the Vietnam men's and women's volleyball teams. VFV is reviewing suitable locations to implement the training program in the second phase of the training.

Mr. Le Tri Truong added that Japan is likely to be considered as a place to improve the skills of the women's team, while the men's team can train in China. However, it also depends on the financial factor. It is not excluded that the two teams will train at the same training location.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will train in the first phase of the training session until September 8. The Vietnamese men's volleyball team will train in the first phase until July 20. After the training session ends, all players will be returned to their home teams and the two national volleyball teams will regroup after the 2025 National Volleyball Championship ends.

Meanwhile, for the Vietnam U21 women's volleyball team, after the end of the VTV Cup 2025 women's volleyball tournament, Vietnam U21 will return the players to their home teams to compete in the national U23 tournament.

With the 2025 National U23 Volleyball Championship taking place from July 12 to 26, it means that the entire U21 team will only have about 10 days of training before the U21 Women's World Championship taking place in Indonesia, when the tournament will be held from August 7 to 17.

In the plan and targets assigned by the sports industry for volleyball to compete in the 33rd SEA Games 2025, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team must reach the finals and win the gold medal, while the Vietnamese men's volleyball team must win a medal.

Currently, each team is training and competing in international tournaments to improve their skills towards participating in the 33rd SEA Games in 2025. The Vietnamese men's volleyball team is allowed to participate in 3 international tournaments before the end of the first training period, including the AVC Champions League 2025, AVC Nations Cup 2025 and SEA V.League 2025. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team will participate in international tournaments during the first training period, including the AVC Nations Cup 2025, VTV Cup 2025, Shanghai Future Stars 2025, SEA V.League 2025, and the 2025 World Championship.
