The quality training program built according to British standards, modern learning environment, reasonable cost are the advantages of the Gloucestershire Vietnam program. In addition, the teaching staff also plays an equally important role in helping learners make decisions to stick with it throughout their learning journey. Studying with foreign lecturers is a great advantage to help students develop themselves in a multicultural environment.
Foreign lecturers - the "attraction" of the training program
According to Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc - Director of Gloucestershire Vietnam program, currently teaching international bachelor programs at UoG Vietnam are mostly foreign lecturers. This team of lecturers is in charge of English skills and subjects related to economic groups, marketing, communication...
“The school pays great attention to selecting lecturers. For lecturers in charge of teaching English, they must have TESOL/TEFL/TESL or CELTA certificates. The group of specialized lecturers have a master's degree or higher and have experience teaching and working in an international environment,” said Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc.
According to Dr. Matthew Andrews - Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gloucestershire (UK), lecturers teaching at partner universities around the world must pass strict accreditation criteria of the University of Gloucestershire before officially teaching.
“From our highly qualified staff to the achievements of our graduates, as well as the results of major competitions and research activities, these are concrete evidences of the quality of our teachers’ teaching. We highly appreciate our strategic partner, Gloucestershire Vietnam,” Dr. Matthew Andrews added.
In addition to foreign lecturers working at Gloucestershire Vietnam, the University of Gloucestershire regularly sends professors from the UK to teach directly to Vietnamese students in specialized subjects.
In addition, online co-taught classes between Gloucestershire Vietnam students and UK students are also a highlight, with students from both countries studying together in some subjects. Lecturers from the UK and Vietnam will take turns teaching in these co-taught sessions. Students will discuss, do exercises and present together in the sessions.
Access global knowledge and skills from international faculty
With experience teaching and working in many countries, lecturers at Gloucestershire Vietnam inspire students to learn through practical knowledge and skills.
“In my courses, I provide students with diverse perspectives so that they can approach problems from different angles. In addition, we also share with students our experiences from our international work environment so that they can apply them to their future work,” said Dmitry Pavlov, M.A., lecturer in International Business.
As a former student who graduated with the highest achievement in English and Linguistics at Gloucestershire Vietnam, Nguyen Dong Quan said: “Studying 100% in English has given me a solid foreign language foundation to have the opportunity to study abroad. The multicultural learning environment provided by the teachers helped me not feel overwhelmed when studying abroad after completing the international bachelor’s program.”
Sharing the same thought with Dong Quan, Ho Xuan Tan - a student majoring in Business Administration and Marketing, felt that he had developed more skills and thinking when studying with foreign lecturers: "Studying with foreign lecturers helped me change a lot in my thinking when doing project work for the subject. Teachers pay a lot of attention to critical thinking and creativity of students instead of just stopping at the content in books."
The advantages of studying directly with foreign lecturers help students develop comprehensively from specialized knowledge to English proficiency as well as skills related to the major. This helps students grasp the trends of the global labor market and better prepare for the job search process after graduation.
