Hai Duong Provincial Red Cross Society supports the construction of Red Cross Houses for families in difficult circumstances in Kien Hung commune, Kien Thuy district.

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the morning of May 16, the City Red Cross Society held a groundbreaking ceremony to build a Red Cross House for Mr. Pham Van Phuong's family in Dai Thang village, Kien Hung commune, Kien Thuy district. Attending were Chairman of the City Red Cross Society Bui Manh Phuc; Chairman of the Hai Duong Province Red Cross Society Nguyen Van The; representatives of relevant units and localities; and Mr. Pham Van Phuong's family, relatives and neighbors.

In response to Humanitarian Month 2025, the Hai Phong City Red Cross Society and Hai Duong Province agreed to coordinate in building 4 Red Cross houses for families in especially difficult circumstances. According to the plan, the Hai Phong Red Cross Society will support the construction of 2 houses in Hai Duong; the Hai Duong Red Cross Society will support the construction of 2 houses in Hai Phong.

In Hai Phong , the family of Mr. Pham Van Phuong, Dai Thang village, Kien Hung commune is one of the households receiving support. The family of 4 currently lives in a temporary house of about 20 square meters, with poor living conditions. Mr. Phuong's wife is a seasonal worker with an unstable income and suffers from Brado's goiter and thyroid tumor. The eldest son dropped out of school early to help the family, the youngest is in 3rd grade. Mr. Phuong is a freelancer with an unstable income, and life is difficult.

Hai Duong Provincial Red Cross Society gives support to the family.

After a field survey, Mr. Pham Van Phuong's family received 50 million VND from the Hai Duong Provincial Red Cross Society through the Hai Phong City Red Cross Society, and an additional 50 million VND from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Thuy District. The house is expected to be built with an area of 40 square meters, covered with a heat-resistant corrugated iron roof, including two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen, with a total cost of over 200 million VND. The remaining part will be completed by relatives and clans. The house is expected to be inaugurated in July 2025.

The coordination between Hai Phong and Hai Duong not only provides practical support to disadvantaged households but also contributes to strengthening the social security network, spreading the spirit of humanity and sharing in the community./.
