Vietnam Veterans Association discusses many important issues

At the conference, delegates frankly discussed and contributed their opinions on: Draft assessment of 20 years of implementing Resolution 09 of the Politburo on strengthening the Party's leadership over war veterans' work in the new revolutionary period; draft resolution on leadership and building the Vietnam War Veterans' Association to be strong in politics and ideology in the new period; draft on organizing the 7th Patriotic Emulation Congress and activities to celebrate major national holidays in 2024. In addition to the results achieved in implementing the above resolutions, delegates also pointed out the limitations and shortcomings and proposed solutions in the coming time.

Assessing the results of the implementation of the 2023 tasks of the Vietnam Veterans Association, the delegates agreed: The Vietnam Veterans Association has successfully completed the contents and programs set out in the first year of the term of the 7th Executive Committee. Notably, the Veterans Association at all levels has actively implemented patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Central and local governments; always upholding the sense of self-reliance, self-strengthening, mutual love, helping each other to eliminate hunger and reduce poverty, improve life, and strive to become rich legitimately. In particular, the Association at all levels has always maintained and promoted the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, the tradition of "Loyalty - Solidarity - Exemplary - Innovation", being exemplary and taking the lead in performing political tasks in the locality; actively participating in giving opinions on Party building, government building and doing a good job of caring for, educating, and fostering patriotism and revolutionary traditions for the younger generation, which has been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party committees, government, Fatherland Front and people.

Promoting the results achieved in 2023, in the coming time, Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong suggested: All levels of the association thoroughly grasp and seriously implement the resolutions, conclusions and directives of the Central Committee; promote the exemplary role of cadres and members at all levels, actively participate in movements and campaigns organized by the Central and localities; promote the role of the core force, especially at the grassroots level in propaganda work, grasping the situation of public opinion. Promote emulation movements, focusing on combining "learning from Uncle Ho" with "following Uncle Ho", associated with the movements: "Exemplary war veterans", "War veterans help each other reduce poverty, do good business", "War veterans participate in maintaining traffic order and safety and building traffic culture" and the campaigns: "The whole people unite to build a cultural life in residential areas", "Building new rural areas, civilized urban areas" ...
