The Provincial Former Police Association was established in December 2023. Currently, there are a total of 2,310 members at the Provincial Former Police Association; 9 District and City Former Police Associations and 110 Grassroots Former Police Associations.
Receiving the attention, leadership and close direction from the Provincial Police Department's Board of Directors, immediately after its establishment, the Provincial Police Veterans Association Executive Committee quickly stabilized its organization, built and implemented many specific directions and activities, gathered and united members, promoted its core role, actively contributed to the implementation of political tasks, ensured security and order, patriotic emulation movements and participated in local socio-economic development.
The Association of Former Police Officers of districts, cities and branches have carried out many practical activities such as signing emulation covenants, pledging not to let their children violate the law; organizing patrols to maintain security and order; helping violators reintegrate into the community; implementing charity activities, visiting and giving gifts to families with meritorious services, organizing activities to return to the source, traditional meetings... creating an exciting atmosphere among the former police officer force.
The members have promoted the spirit of being exemplary and pioneering in the work of propagating andeducating the law, reforming wrongdoers; coordinating with the police force at the grassroots level in grasping the situation, resolving complicated cases; preventing and combating crimes and social evils; mobilizing people to properly implement the Party's policies and the State's laws. Many former police officers have become "bridges" between the government and the people, contributing to building the great national unity bloc.
In addition, the work of caring for the lives of members is also of interest. The Standing Committee of the Association has decided to develop regulations for the program "Former Police Officers' Affection and Charity". In 2024, the Association's leaders visited 7 members in difficult circumstances, celebrated the longevity of 8 members, and mourned 4 members and 15 relatives of deceased members.
At the same time, the Association also called on 100% of its members to donate more than 200 million VND to support people and compatriots to overcome the consequences of floods caused by storm No. 3, demonstrating the spirit of mutual love of former police officers.
Lieutenant General, Dr. Tran Anh Dung, Chairman of the Provincial Association of Former Police Officers, said: “In 2025, the Provincial Association of Former Police Officers will continue to improve the Association's organizations, admit new members, complete the working regulations, work programs, and internal operating regulations of the Association.
Continue to carry out the emulation movement and build and replicate advanced models at all levels of the Association and all members. Strive for each comrade in the Executive Committee (EC) of the Association and the Executive Committees of the Associations of districts and cities to build 1 unit (commune or village level, residential group) to do well 1 specific task in the movement "All people protect national security at the grassroots level".
Along with that, the Association continues to strengthen propaganda and education of members on policies and laws, promote emulation activities to celebrate major holidays of the country and the Public Security sector, and at the same time take care of the lives of members, especially those in difficult circumstances; maintain and develop the program "Former Public Security Forces' Affection and Charity".
Continue to promote the good qualities of the People's Public Security Forces "Forgetting oneself for the country, serving the people", actively participating in movements launched by the Government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front such as the movement "Repaying gratitude", "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses"... and other charitable activities.
