Director of Import-Export Department Phan Van Chinh spoke.
The Import-Export Department informed delegates about the commitments in new generation free trade agreements such as: Vietnam - EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), Vietnam - UK Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA), tariff incentives that businesses need to pay attention to and sustainable export orientation, especially for local export products; Rules of origin in EVFTA, CPTPP and UKVFTA; market information situation and update of import mechanisms and policies of Asia - Africa market, Europe - America market...
According to the Import-Export Department, to enjoy tariff incentives in free trade agreements, the important issue is that exporting enterprises need to meet the regulations on goods origin. In the near future, the implementation of free trade agreements will enter a phase of implementing stronger commitments, so it is necessary to have closer connections and coordination from central and local management agencies with associations, enterprises, cooperatives, Farmers' Associations, etc. to take advantage of the opportunities brought by free trade agreements.
This conference also aims to provide useful information to help State management officials, enterprises and cooperatives make the most of opportunities, while minimizing risks from free trade agreements in general and free trade agreements in the new context in particular.
