According to the report, in the first 6 months of the year, Steering Committee 389 of ministries, branches, provinces and cities did a good job of leading, directing and strictly implementing the directives of the Government , the Prime Minister, and the National Steering Committee 389 on the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Specifically, units and localities arrested and handled nearly 50,000 cases of smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods and tax fraud; collected nearly 6,500 billion VND for the state budget; prosecuted 1,899 cases with 3,271 defendants.

Timely rectify communication activities and product advertising on mass media. In the peak month alone (from May 15 to June 15), units and localities arrested and handled more than 10,836 cases of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods (an increase of 79.34% compared to the previous peak month); collected nearly 1,300 billion VND for the state budget (an increase of 258.43% compared to the previous peak month); temporarily seized goods and exhibits worth an estimated over 4,075 billion VND (not including the temporarily seized goods of drugs, banned goods and counterfeit goods); prosecuted more than 200 cases with 378 defendants.

However, according to the National Steering Committee 389, the work of combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods is still limited. The situation of smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, trading in counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin, goods infringing intellectual property rights is still complicated, especially in the e-commerce environment on a large scale, over a long period of time, directly affecting people's health; the situation of illegal buying and selling of invoices and tax fraud has not been detected and thoroughly handled; sanctions for violations of intellectual property rights are not strong enough to deter; the capacity and professional qualifications of functional forces are still limited...

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the forces that have taken action in recent times, especially the Police, Army, Coast Guard, and Market Management, to continuously handle and crack down on many serious and especially serious cases. The Prime Minister emphasized that the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and intellectual property infringement is an important and regular task that needs to be implemented resolutely, synchronously, and effectively.

Ministries, sectors and localities must immediately get to work, promote the achieved results, overcome limitations, comprehensively promote the fight against and handle violations to protect people's rights and health.../.
