Comrade Le Quoc Minh agreed with the proposal of the Thai side to send delegations of reporters to each country to exchange professional skills; emphasizing that VJA is ready to diversify forms of cooperation such as sports, cultural and artistic exchanges between journalists of the two countries, considering this to be a model in the relationship between press agencies in the region. On the Thai side, Ms. Norrinee Ruangnoo, First Vice President of CTJ, highly appreciated the proposals of VJA because it would create a very interesting playground for the press of the two countries and hoped that it would become an annual activity. The Thai side said that next year, it is ready to welcome Vietnamese reporters to Thai language training and hopes that Vietnam will also invite Thai reporters to Vietnamese language training in Hanoi .
At the same time, Mr. Chavarong Limpattamapanee, senior advisor of CTJ, reviewed the recent cooperation process between the two Journalists Associations of the two countries, both members of the Confederation of ASEAN Journalists (CAJ). Mr. Chavarong pledged to be ready to receive feedback from Vietnamese press agencies stationed in the host country in case of related false information, thereby investigating and providing accurate information.
During a working session with the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier in the afternoon of the same day with the participation of a number of CTJ leaders, comrade Le Quoc Minh affirmed that VJA attaches importance to the relationship with Thai media agencies as well as with CTJ, especially the annual exchange of working delegations between the two countries' journalist associations.
Comrade Le Quoc Minh emphasized that, like in many countries, Vietnamese media is facing countless challenges and opportunities when every day in the world, about 7 billion pieces of information are posted on social networking sites and there are many cases of information interference. People only need smart devices to be able to quickly post information online, including a lot of inaccurate information and they are also less responsible for incorrect information. Therefore, official press agencies must adapt quickly and appropriately to both post information quickly and accurately so that society can receive the right issues, especially to deal with fake information, contributing to creating a standard and clean information environment.
Comrade Le Quoc Minh said that he is ready to provide deeper cooperation with the Thai press as well as through cooperation with the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs; affirming that strengthening cooperation and learning from each other's experiences and lessons between countries will help the press develop.
For his part, Thai Deputy Foreign Minister Russ Jalichandra was pleased to welcome the delegation of the Vietnam Journalists Association to visit and work; affirming that the relationship between the two countries is increasingly developing well and friendly, the people of the two countries have a long-standing relationship, especially with many Vietnamese people living in Thailand. Deputy Minister Russ said that the role of the media is very important today and the forms of media have changed a lot. People do not need to have extensive knowledge of journalism but can still bring information to society through social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter... and there has been misleading information at the national level. Therefore, media cooperation between countries plays an even more important role in the current situation.
The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs pledged to provide the highest level of support for the cooperation between VJA and Thai media agencies to grow in scale and depth. The Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs also said that recently, it has coordinated with official media agencies of a number of countries to increase the dissemination of truthful information to eliminate misunderstandings caused by previous inaccurate information, helping the public understand the issue accurately.
