Hanoi is the locality with the largest number of candidates taking the high school graduation exam this year in the country with more than 124,000 candidates, an increase of over 15,000 compared to last year.
The whole city has 233 examination sites with nearly 5,000 examination rooms, including 4 examination sites specifically for students studying the 2006 General Education Program. The city mobilized 16,000 staff and teachers to participate in serving the exam.

During the exam registration procedure on the afternoon of June 25, candidates were instructed on where to store their belongings before entering the exam room. The locations for storing candidates’ belongings were arranged 25-30 meters away from the exam room. Some small exam locations have arranged boxes for candidates to move their belongings to a safe location.
The exam steering committee also has scenarios ready for situations of heavy rain, localized flooding, power outages, traffic jams, and disease outbreaks; arranges rescue forces, health care, and supports candidates to get to the exam site safely.

Officers at the examination sites are also assigned the task of disseminating the examination regulations, emphasizing the new points of the examination so that candidates can understand clearly. Any confusion or incorrect information of candidates will be resolved on the day of examination procedures to ensure the rights of candidates. In cases where candidates lose their identification documents or examination notices, they will be required to write a commitment to take the examination.
The invigilators also noted that the tools that candidates are allowed to bring into the examination room include: Pens; rulers; pencils; erasers; squares; graphing rulers; drawing tools; handheld calculators without text editing functions and without memory cards. Candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program are allowed to bring a Geography Atlas into the examination room; candidates taking the 2018 General Education Program are not allowed to bring a Geography Atlas.

Prohibited items to bring into the exam room/waiting room include: Carbon paper, erasers, alcoholic beverages; weapons and explosives, flammable substances; documents, communication equipment (receiving, broadcasting information, recording audio, video) or containing information to cheat during the exam.
Notably, at this year's exam, for the first time, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training launched the 2025 High School Graduation Exam Score Map with touch function. When opening the exam score map, candidates can look up any exam score in Hanoi's 2025 High School Graduation Exam.
At each testing site, 8 pieces of information will be displayed: Test site code, test site name, test site address, test site phone number, candidate number, official test room number, backup test room number, and waiting room number. If candidates need to look up directions and travel time, the map with location function will provide the most detailed directions for candidates. This helps candidates get to the test site at the right time and at the right address. In addition, the digital map also displays the detailed test schedule of the 2018 General Education Program and the 2006 General Education Program.

"Among the 233 exam sites, many have the same name but are junior high or high schools. There are also schools with the same name but located in different districts. Therefore, if candidates and parents do not check the information carefully, it is easy to confuse exam scores or get lost. In fact, in previous exams, there were candidates who did not come to complete the exam registration procedures before the exam date, so they got the wrong exam score and got lost on the exam day. Due to this incident, some candidates arrived late after the exam papers were distributed and were not allowed to take the exam. This is very unfortunate, so applying digital maps is one of the remote prevention solutions to limit this situation," emphasized a representative of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training.

Previously, on the morning of June 25, in addition to reviewing the preparation of facilities, plans to protect exam sites, and assigning tasks to forces, exam sites in Hanoi also spent most of their time organizing the study of the regulations. Accordingly, all members at the exam sites were thoroughly informed of the exam invigilation instructions, clarifying the duties and powers of each member, especially the new points in the exam invigilation process.
More than 8,000 volunteers participate in supporting candidates at 233 high school graduation exam sites
According to the Hanoi City Youth Union - Student Association, to support candidates participating in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, more than 8,000 volunteers will be arranged at exam locations to cheer and support candidates to "pass the gate", ensuring that each school gate has 25-30 volunteers to direct traffic, guide candidates, provide drinking water and help find exam rooms.
In particular, the City Youth Union - City Student Association has also mobilized resources of more than 40,000 gifts, 5,000 cakes, 27,000 hand fans, 34,368 bottles of water, 300 sets of school supplies... to support candidates. During the exam, the exam sites will have a team of "free volunteer motorbike taxis" to pick up and drop off candidates in difficult circumstances during the exam days, especially candidates with mobility difficulties, disabilities or no means of transportation...
In addition, all testing locations have areas to distribute free essential items to candidates and their families such as drinking water, cakes, candies, school supplies, and handheld fans.
