On the afternoon of October 8, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment launched a fundraising campaign to support people affected by storm No. 10. Each official, civil servant, public employee and worker in the Agriculture and Environment sector will donate at least one day's salary to help people in the flood-hit areas stabilize their lives and restore production.
The Vietnam Agricultural and Environmental Trade Union was assigned to be the focal point to receive and transfer all support resources to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for allocation to localities.
Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Duc Thang said that in September and early October alone, Vietnam suffered five consecutive storms, including storm No. 9 Ragansa, storm No. 10 (Bualoi) and storm No. 11 (Matmo), which caused serious damage to the northern and central provinces.
As of October 8, more than 80 people were dead or missing, nearly 196,000 houses were damaged, 87,000 hectares of rice and crops were flooded, many traffic works and public infrastructure were destroyed with estimated damage of tens of thousands of billions of VND.
The Minister called on all officials in the industry to support people in disaster areas with practical actions.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, nearly 1 billion VND was donated to support people in flood-affected areas.

On the same day, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep issued decisions to receive emergency aid from Samaritan's Purse for three provinces damaged by the storm: Ha Tinh, Tuyen Quang and Lang Son.
The aid was made to help people overcome the severe consequences caused by storm No. 10 and floods in early October 2025.
According to the decision, Ha Tinh province will receive aid packages including household appliances, kitchenware, personal hygiene products and essential foods for 1,500 households.
Tuyen Quang province was allocated a similar amount for 800 households.
Lang Son province alone was supported with 4,000 boxes of instant noodles, 4,000 boxes of Lavie water and 4,000 boxes of sausages to provide emergency relief to people in Huu Lung and That Khe communes.
All aid goods are 100% new goods purchased domestically.
The People's Committees of the above-mentioned provinces will receive, transport and distribute relief goods to the right beneficiaries, ensuring publicity and transparency, and at the same time report the implementation results to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment before December 30, 2025.
