
As of July 15, the country had 252,635 businesses registered to use electronic invoices generated from cash registers, 2.4 times higher than at the end of 2024. In the first 6 months of 2025 alone, 146,032 new businesses registered, 5 times higher than the same period last year. Of these, there were 142,340 businesses (1.83 times higher) and 110,295 business households (3.85 times higher), including 57,498 contract households and 52,797 declaration households.
The Tax Department aims that by the end of 2025, 100% of businesses with direct sales activities to consumers and 100% of business households subject to the application will register and use electronic invoices generated from cash registers when providing goods and services.
Regarding tax collection from e-commerce and digital business activities, the total revenue in the first 6 months of 2025 reached VND98,000 billion, up 58% over the same period. Of which, 163 foreign suppliers registered to declare taxes through the Foreign Supplier Information Portal with a payment of VND5,700 billion, up 41%. There were 143,500 households and individuals doing e-commerce business declaring and paying taxes through the Electronic Portal with a total tax of VND1,960 billion.
The Tax Department also said: The rate of electronic tax declaration and payment continues to be maintained at a high level, both above 99%. In the first 6 months of the year, the tax sector received more than 10 million electronic tax declaration dossiers, an increase of 8.3%; recorded 2.9 million electronic tax payment transactions with the amount of VND 591,800 billion, an increase of 7.4% in transactions and 26.3% in revenue.
Notably, the eTax Mobile application continued to expand with 6,193,291 downloads and installations (2.7 times higher than the end of 2024). In the first 6 months of the year, there were about 10 million tax payment transactions with a total revenue of VND 17,923 billion, 5.6 times higher in number of transactions and 4.24 times higher in tax revenue compared to the same period last year.
In the coming period, the tax authority said it will continue to promote comprehensive digital transformation; deploy new technology applications in invoice management, tax refunds, tax declarations and payments; improve the quality of information technology system operations, ensuring safety, smoothness and effective service.
