More than 30 precious lotus species in full bloom at Hanoi Lotus Festival 2024

In recent years, Hanoi has promoted people to grow lotus by converting low-lying areas, ponds, abandoned and ineffective fields. Hanoi currently has a lotus growing area of about 600 hectares, concentrated in My Duc, Me Linh, Ba Vi, Thanh Oai, Thuong Tin, Phu Xuyen, Soc Son, Phuc Tho, Ung Hoa... Currently, Tay Ho district is piloting the restoration of Bach Diep lotus growing area with 9 lotus ponds on an area of 10 hectares. The Hanoi Lotus Festival in 2024 is a specific activity to realize the City Party Committee's Program 04 on "Promoting the effective implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction associated with restructuring the agricultural sector and developing the rural economy , improving the material and spiritual life of farmers in the period 2021-2025"; Program No. 06 on "Cultural development, improving the quality of human resources, building elegant and civilized Hanoians in the period 2021-2025".
