More than 33,000 Da Nang residents responded to the walking program "Moving Forward with Vietnam"

ĐNO - On the morning of August 16, more than 33,000 officers, soldiers and residents of Da Nang, along with millions of people nationwide, responded to the walking program "Moving Forward with Vietnam", spreading the message "1 billion steps into a new era". The program was jointly organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security.

In Da Nang , Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Le Tri Thanh attended the event.

This is a community event taking place simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities nationwide, with profound political and social significance, taking place in the context of the country entering a new development stage along with the rearrangement of administrative units.

Responding to the launching ceremony, at the East Sea Park, about 5,700 Da Nang residents joined hundreds of thousands of people nationwide wearing red flags with yellow stars heading to Ba Dinh Square to watch the national flag raising ceremony, sing the national anthem and walk.

With the theme “1 billion steps into the new era”, this is an activity in response to the campaign “All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho” and the movement “Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland”.

Previously, from July 25 to August 16, people across the country actively participated in registering online through the official portal cungvietnamtienbuoc.nhandan.vn to contribute to the journey of "1 billion steps into the new era".

Each step recorded through the program's digital platform is a "green step", contributing to reducing carbon emissions, raising awareness of environmental protection and moving towards the country's Net Zero goal.

At the Hanoi bridge, Mr. Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Co-Head of the Program Steering Committee shared: “With the mission of the leading press agency of the country, Nhan Dan Newspaper has coordinated with the Ministry of Public Security to organize the program 'Forwarding with Vietnam', spreading the spirit of solidarity, arousing national pride and contributing to social, environmental and health goals. This is not only a sporting event but also a journey of millions of hearts beating in unison - a place where all generations and all classes of people from urban to rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas gather for a united, strong Vietnam, ready to step into a new era - the era of national aspirations, for a powerful future".

Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Co-Chairman of the Steering Committee affirmed: “The People's Public Security Force has taken the lead in organizing, mobilizing and participating in the program, with the participation of thousands of officers and soldiers from the commune to the provincial level. This is not only a physical activity but also a campaign to propagate the law, prevent crime, strengthen the people's security posture, contributing to building the image of a healthy, safe and responsible Vietnam in the eyes of international friends.”
