Over the past 5 years, Quang Ngai has sent more than 4,500 workers to work abroad under contracts, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction and opening up opportunities to escape poverty for many households.

Quang Ngai always identifies sending workers to work abroad under contracts as one of the important solutions in sustainable poverty reduction. In recent times, sectors and localities in the province have stepped up propaganda and coordinated well in implementing the policy of sending workers to work abroad under contracts.

Over the past 5 years, the province has had more than 4,500 workers working under contracts, mainly in traditional markets such as Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Saudi Arabia. The program has opened up opportunities for many poor, near-poor, and ethnic minority workers to escape poverty sustainably. As a result, the poverty rate in the province has decreased to an estimated 1.8% by the end of 2025. The average reduction is 2.25%/year, exceeding the target assigned by the Central Government. In the period of 2025 - 2030, the Department of Home Affairs of Quang Ngai province continues to coordinate with departments, branches, and localities to synchronously deploy many solutions to ensure the efficiency and quality of labor resources when working abroad. Striving to achieve the goal of sending 5,500 workers to work abroad under contracts.
