More than 4,600 people with 'household registration' in Hanoi have their departure delayed due to tax debt

According to the report of Hanoi Tax Department, recently, this unit has effectively implemented debt management and tax debt enforcement, preventing businesses from taking advantage of the State's tax support policies to evade taxes, delay payment, and have tax arrears.

Specifically, since the beginning of the year, the Hanoi Tax Department has focused on promoting the application of temporary exit suspension measures for legal representatives of enterprises, promoting the application of information technology in debt management and tax debt enforcement.

In particular, in 2024, the Hanoi Tax Department coordinated with the Information Technology Department - General Department of Taxation to complete the implementation of issuing decisions on tax debt enforcement by electronic means and put it into operation immediately.

As a result, up to now, the whole area has temporarily suspended exit for 4,672 subjects with tax debt of 5,901 billion VND, the debt collected through temporary suspension of exit for legal representatives of enterprises is 714 billion VND.

With the drastic implementation of solutions to support and remove difficulties for taxpayers as well as urge and collect overdue debts, the result of overdue debt collection in the first 6 months of 2024 was 7,646 billion VND, reaching 51.3% of the assigned debt collection target.

In the coming time, Hanoi Tax Department will focus on preventing tax losses, especially in high-risk areas, stepping up inspections at tax offices, focusing on businesses with large potential for revenue increase according to the following topics: E-commerce, capital transfer, real estate transfer, land and housing, anti-tax refund fraud, e-invoice fraud.

At the same time, the Tax Department will review, standardize, classify debts, implement measures to handle and collect tax debts according to regulations. Focus on recovering debts related to land of projects managed by local authorities. Effectively carry out debt settlement work according to the National Assembly 's Resolution; Combine urging debt collection with removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses.
