According to the Kon Tum Provincial Forest Protection Department, although forest protection work is often arduous, dangerous, and involves exposure to insects and disease-causing microorganisms, it is not yet included in the list of arduous and hazardous occupations. Meanwhile, the limited authority of specialized forest protection forces has caused difficulties and pressure... Increasingly developing socio-economic conditions, leading to increased demand for residential land and production land, also create pressure on the management and protection of forest resources.
To resolve the situation of forest rangers and staff resigning, Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee has issued a document requesting the Government to have specific policies for forest rangers in particular and specialized forest rangers in general.
Kon Tum Provincial People's Committee also directed forest owners to develop plans to contract forests and forestry land for workers to manage and protect forests in order to develop the economy, improve income to stay with the forest, and work with peace of mind.
