According to Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Vulin, unlike the West, Russia has never forced Serbia to make any political or economic decisions, nor has it ever blackmailed Belgrade officials.
“Even in these difficult times, Russia always takes into account that we are fully supplied with gas, have enough energy resources, and the prices are more reasonable, much lower than market prices, so that we do not feel what the whole of Europe is feeling,” Mr. Vulin emphasized.
According to Mr. Vulin, Russia has never asked Serbia to impose sanctions on any country. The Serbian Deputy Prime Minister noted that Russia has always emphasized its stance of not joining the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) because this alliance has hostile moves towards them, but joining the European Union (EU) is Belgrade's choice and right, and Moscow only made a proposal about BRICS.
But on the other hand, the Serbian Deputy Prime Minister said he constantly heard things like: "If you go with Russia, you will not join the EU, if you cooperate with the Russians, we will impose sanctions on you."
Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister affirmed: "President Putin is a sincere friend of Serbia", Belgrade and Moscow officials "are more than friends, we are allies".
