(sonla.gov.vn) On the afternoon of May 31, 2024, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Cong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting to discuss the implementation plan of the flood prevention tunnel project in Hua Trai commune, Muong La district. Attending the meeting were leaders of departments and branches; Muong La District People's Committee and related departments and offices.

The investment plan for the construction of a flood protection tunnel in Hua Trai commune, Muong La district, this is the neighboring area of Phin Ho Hydropower Plant, Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province. The plant is located on the left bank of Nam Khot stream in Che Tao commune, Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province. During the rainy season, the large water flow on Nam Khot stream combined with the high water level of Nam Trai stream, Hua Trai commune, Muong La district causes flooding at Phin Ho Hydropower Plant.

The plan, when implemented, will effectively prevent floods, ensuring no impact on technical infrastructure, projects and residents in the area. According to the design, the project has a length of 161.30 m, a usable area of 608.70 m2, and is currently vacant land, not included in the planning of 3 types of forests.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Thanh Cong assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the People's Committee of Muong La district to study, advise and submit a plan to establish an investment policy for the flood drainage project of Phin Ho hydropower plant in Hua Trai commune, Muong La district to promote effectiveness in flood prevention work.
