Press conference on the 1st Congress of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee

On the afternoon of October 10, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee held a press conference on the 1st Congress of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Responsibility - Breakthrough - Development", the Congress is expected to take place over two days, from October 16 to 17.

The 1st Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee has the theme: Promoting the heroic revolutionary tradition, solidarity, building a clean and strong Party and political system; making breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; taking advantage of opportunities, advantages and potentials of the southernmost province of the Fatherland to develop comprehensively, confidently entering a new era with the whole country.

The 1st Congress of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, was attended by 450 delegates, including 53 ex-officio delegates; the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee appointed 397 official delegates and 71 alternate delegates from 68 delegations. Of these, 88 were female delegates, accounting for 19.6%; 12 delegates were ethnic minorities, accounting for 2.67%.

Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Ho Trung Viet said that the preparation of documents for the Congress has been carefully and seriously prepared, in accordance with the regulations and instructions of the Central Committee, and is the crystallization of the wisdom of the entire Party Committee, people and army in the province. Up to now, the basic preparations have followed the set plan, the work on documents, personnel, logistics, celebrations, etc. have all been completed, ready for the Congress to take place on schedule and as required.

According to the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, after 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee, Government, army and people in the province have strived to comprehensively implement the goals and tasks, achieving important results. The work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system has been deployed synchronously and effectively; the organization and apparatus of the political system have been consolidated and perfected. The work of planning and training associated with the arrangement and assignment of cadres has been carried out synchronously, proactively, closely and seriously.

Many major socio -economic tasks and targets were implemented with good results; the economic growth rate (GRDP) achieved good results, averaging over 7%/year; the economic structure shifted in the right direction; socio-economic targets were basically completed. Economic pillars were deployed and implemented with many good results. Culture and society made much progress; education quality was improved; national target programs on new rural construction and sustainable poverty reduction achieved practical results; the rate of poor and near-poor households decreased sharply; the material, cultural and spiritual life of the people was improved and raised. National defense was firmly ensured; political security, order and social safety were maintained.

Especially in 2025, the last year of the term, the province carried out the revolution of rearranging and streamlining the apparatus of the political system and organizing the activities of the two-level local government with initial results, improving the quality of service to people and businesses; the people's trust in the Party and the State increased.

At the press conference, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Nam Phong informed that after merging the two provinces of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu, on the basis of the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the two provinces, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee reviewed and supplemented the planning of Party committees, provincial-level leadership positions; and positions under the management of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee. Up to now, Ca Mau has completed the procedures for introducing personnel to join the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and key leadership positions of the province for the 2025-2030 term.
