International cooperation to develop strategic technologies

On the morning of July 31, in Hanoi, the Department of Economic Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the Workshop "International cooperation to develop strategic technologies" in both in-person and online formats.

The workshop is a practical activity to implement the task assigned by the Government to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to preside over the development of the International Cooperation Strategy on strategic technology, while contributing to the realization of Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

With the theme “International cooperation on strategic technologies”, the workshop had the participation and contributions both online and in person of representatives of departments, ministries, branches, localities; research institutes, universities, research and training establishments; corporations, enterprises, scientists ; and Vietnamese representative agencies in other countries.

Attending the workshop, on the side of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there was the presence of Mr. Nguyen Trung Kien, State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese; Ms. Luyen Minh Hong, Deputy Director of the Department of Economic Diplomacy.

The workshop was also attended by Mr. Nguyen Thien Nghia, Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Science and Technology); Dr. Le Quynh Lien, Head of the International Cooperation Department, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. In addition, there were speakers from universities, research institutes and scientists...

With their enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge, experts and scientists shared many opinions, made profound and substantive assessments, and made many recommendations and specific solutions to promote international cooperation, utilize external resources to effectively contribute to development and create breakthroughs in the development of strategic technologies.

In particular, many discussions focused on three main contents: connection, cooperation, transfer of strategic technology and attracting resources to develop strategic technology infrastructure in Vietnam; research, development, application and commercialization of technology; and development of high-quality human resources, attracting talents to serve breakthroughs in strategic technology development.

The opinions and discussion contents of the Workshop are important suggestions for promoting international cooperation to serve the development of strategic technologies in the coming time.
