Accordingly, the common method of fraud is that the subjects often use the trick of creating social networking pages, fake websites of famous travel companies and hotels, even using Facebook pages with blue ticks to create trust. Then, the subjects launch surprisingly cheap travel service packages, along with attractive advertisements to attract the attention of tourists.

When customers contact them, these scammers will try to ask for a deposit in advance under the pretext of "holding a spot" or "receiving a special offer". After receiving the money, the scammers will cut off contact.

In addition, the situation of impersonating technology-based ride-hailing applications and self-driving car rental services has also been recorded. Subjects create applications and websites with interfaces similar to reputable applications, asking users to provide personal information, bank card information for registration or verification, then hijacking accounts or illegally using information.

The Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department, Hue City Police, has just issued a warning to residents and tourists about fraudulent tricks to appropriate property related to booking tourism services, especially in the context of the approaching April 30 - May 1 holiday.

People need to be vigilant and absolutely do not transfer deposits without clearly verifying the origin of the fanpages and websites providing the services. Prioritize booking airline tickets, tours, and hotel rooms through reputable applications or companies with clear business addresses. This helps ensure your rights and minimize the risk of fraud.

In addition, you need to carefully check the legal information of the service provider, read previous user reviews and contact the official hotline to verify the information.

In case of suspected fraud, immediately report to the nearest police station for timely support.

Hue City Department of Tourism also has some specific recommendations such as: Carefully check information about service packages, compare prices from many different sources; Do not provide personal information, bank account information to strange websites and applications; Be cautious with offers, unusually cheap advertisements on social networks; Only make payments when you have fully verified the information and feel confident; Keep evidence of transactions to have a basis for resolution when problems arise.
