Hue will open the Imperial Citadel at night for free and fire cannons at the Flag Tower on the occasion of April 30.
On April 24, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center announced that it will open some areas inside the Hue Imperial City at night completely free of charge for people and tourists coming to Hue during the April 30 holiday.
From Hien Nhon Gate, visitors will embark on a journey to explore Hue Imperial City at night - where modern light blends with the quiet, ancient features of the ancient citadel.
The two areas that welcome visitors are Thieu Phuong garden and the Interior Palace inside the Royal Palace.
Here will be arranged a modern lighting system, combined with the ancient landscape of the old citadel to create a magical, lively space.
This sparkling royal space will be open to guests from 6pm to 9:30pm, for 6 consecutive nights from April 26 to May 1.
Thieu Phuong Garden and the Interior Palace inside the Hue Imperial City will open free of charge at night on this April 30 holiday to serve the people and tourists who come to visit.
This is the second time Thieu Phuong Garden and the Interior Palace in the Hue Imperial City have opened their doors to visitors for free at night. The previous time was in 2024, on the occasion of the opening of the Hue Summer Festival Week.
In addition to opening the Imperial City at night, from April 26, at Hue's Flag Tower, there will be a cannon firing event - one of the ancient symbolic rituals of the Nguyen Dynasty.
The cannons placed at Hue's Flag Tower spewed bright flames, recreating the cannon firing on important occasions of the ancient Nguyen Dynasty.
This activity will be held every Saturday evening, starting at 7:15 p.m., serving locals and tourists from all over.
This is considered a special opportunity for the public to experience the magical beauty of royal architecture combined with light performance art and traditional art, contributing to promoting the cultural heritage of the ancient capital of Hue closer to domestic and foreign tourists.
