Recently, the Vietnamese Business Association in Hungary, led by Chairman of the Vietnamese Business Association in Hungary Pham Ngoc Chu, an honorary member of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, and the delegation met and discussed with the Department of Sports and Physical Training. The meeting was also attended by Mr. Czigler László, First Vice President of Budapest City.
The working session in Hanoi opened up a new direction in building professional sports in Vietnam, especially support from Hungary to help Vietnam prepare for the 2036 Olympics.

Vietnamese sports are actively preparing for many major sporting events in the coming time, including the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya (Japan) and the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles (USA).
At the same time, there are long-term plans, with special attention paid to developing young talent to prepare for the future. However, the preparation process for the 2036 Olympics still faces many challenges, and Vietnam needs professional support and experience from partners such as Hungary.
According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Chu, the cooperation in the field of sports between Vietnam and Hungary has existed for many years. Hungary wishes to further enhance cooperation opportunities, especially in the context of Hungary campaigning to host the 2036 Olympics in Budapest.
With this orientation, Mr. Chu said that Hungary is very willing to support Vietnam in training athletes in a number of potential sports, and is committed to sending the best Hungarian experts to help Vietnam in the training process to achieve the highest efficiency. In particular, this is a long-term and sustainable companion program, aiming to prepare for generations of athletes from now until 2036.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Sports and Physical Training sector, Director Dang Ha Viet expressed his gratitude for Hungary's goodwill and support. He emphasized the important role of international cooperation in improving achievements and developing the country's sports, especially the practical support that Hungary has given to Vietnamese athletes in major competitions.

Notably, the support from Hungary has helped shooter Trinh Thu Vinh - one of Vietnam's outstanding athletes - make significant progress at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
Meanwhile, Mr. Czigler László also shared his views on building a sustainable foundation for professional sports. He said that the success of professional sports does not only depend on discovering young talents but also depends greatly on coaching experts and psychological factors. He suggested that Vietnam should select a number of key sports, in which Hungary will support experts or organize training programs in Hungary.

During the meeting, the two sides also agreed that a detailed roadmap will soon be established towards the upcoming Olympic Games, including the 2032 and 2036 Olympics. This roadmap will include training programs, providing experts, as well as sharing experiences to help Vietnam improve its position in international arenas.
Director Dang Ha Viet expressed his hope that close cooperation with Hungary will not only help improve Vietnam's achievements in the coming time but also contribute to creating a solid foundation for Vietnamese sports to develop and stand shoulder to shoulder with international sports powers in the future./.
