Ms. Nguyen Thi Huyen, Director of the Company, shared: “In the years 2005-2010, my husband and I left our hometown to Hanoi to start a business, with the job of leveling the ground for industrial and urban projects. By chance, I had a chance to eat shrimp paste with meat and really liked this dish. From my own love, I researched and learned, painstakingly researched and tested many times, to make a new, unique, delicious shrimp paste with meat dish. When I ate delicious fish sauce, everyone encouraged me to make and order it. At first, I only made it when I had free time, but the number of customers ordering increased day by day, so I gradually increased the quantity to meet the needs of relatives, friends and new customers. Confident enough with the quality of the product and realizing that the demand for ready-to-eat processed foods in general, and shrimp paste in particular, in the market was quite large, in 2012, my husband and I established PTK Vietnam Co., Ltd. with the goal of creating a reputable Vietnamese brand. for domestic and international consumers".
To realize that goal, the Company invested in machinery; registered the exclusive trademark for the product PTK Stewed Shrimp Paste with Meat and focused on expanding the market. Up to now, the Company's shrimp paste production process is closed from raw materials to finished products and packaging, the quality is increasingly fragrant and delicious, favored by many consumers. Along with quality, the Company always pays attention to improving the product's appearance through each packaging and eye-catching design. In 2020, PTK Stewed Shrimp Paste with Meat was recognized as a typical rural industrial product at the provincial level; achieved a 4-star OCOP product certification; was honored in the top 100 famous ASEAN brands. Since then, many retail distributors have linked up to place orders to put them on sale at nearly 300 business points in the retail system in Hanoi and the supermarket system Dabaco, Winmart, coopmart and Huy Hung supermarket (Tu Son city). In 2023, the Company's PTK Shrimp Paste Stewed with Meat product, along with 3 other products: PTK stir-fried meat with shrimp paste, PTK dried buffalo, and PTK dried pork, were honored to be recognized as 4-star OCOP products of the province with a score of approximately 85/100 according to the OCOP product criteria set.
Currently, the Company produces and supplies nearly 500 kg of products to the market every day, a 20-fold increase compared to the first years of its establishment; revenue and payment to the State budget each year are always higher than the previous year, creating direct jobs for nearly 20 workers... Pointing to the jar of shrimp paste that has just been packaged, Ms. Huyen said: "No matter what job I do, I always keep in mind that I must put my heart and reputation first, especially in the food business, where heart must be respected even more. Making shrimp paste for sale must be like making it for yourself and your family to eat because if the shrimp paste is not delicious, you will lose customers, and if it is not clean and safe, it is a sin against the eater and the customer."
In the coming time, the Company will continue to invest in expanding facilities, improving capacity and quality to achieve from 90 to 100 points according to the OCOP product criteria, ensuring the conditions to request the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to evaluate, classify and recognize national OCOP products. Currently, PTK shrimp paste with meat is present in dozens of countries such as the US, Australia, Canada, China, Singapore, Japan... but mainly through "hand-carried" channels, and there are no export orders (mandatory criteria for recognizing 5-star OCOP products), so the company is completing the procedures to be able to export to international markets and at the same time linking with production and business partners in the form of franchising because for PTK 879 Vietnam Co., Ltd. to grow, in addition to the domestic market, export is very important. In addition, the Company also diversified its business with new products such as: stir-fried meat with mushrooms, fermented pork rolls, buffalo meat, beef, dried pork... to better meet the needs of diners.
