To mobilize and promote the strength of the overseas Vietnamese community in the cause of national construction and development, especially in science and technology according to Resolution 57 of the Central Committee, the Science and Technology Office of the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada solemnly held the launching ceremony of the Network of Vietnamese Experts and Scientists in Canada (CVSE).
The CVSE network includes Vietnamese experts and scientists living in Canada.
Most of them have made a name for themselves in their second homeland through their contributions to science, technology and innovation, a field that is considered a spearhead to create a breakthrough in growth and development in Vietnam.
The launch of this network will create conditions for scientists to use their knowledge and experience in their fields of expertise to contribute to the Fatherland.
Chief Representative of Science and Technology of the Vietnamese Embassy Hoang Ngoc Dinh said that this network will be one of the great and valuable intellectual resources, as well as a bridge connecting and transmitting information and the latest updates on science and technology from Canada to Vietnam to serve the development goals according to the orientations of the Party and State in the coming time.
Canada has nearly 300,000 Vietnamese people living, studying and working, most of whom are intellectuals, scientists and highly qualified businessmen, possessing knowledge and technological know-how suitable for Vietnam's economic development strategy.
Taking advantage of their contributions is extremely necessary and appropriate to the current context and practical needs of the country.
According to Ambassador Pham Vinh Quang, the launch of this network is one of the typical activities to concretize the spirit of Resolution 169 of the Government on work with overseas Vietnamese and especially the spirit of Resolution 57 of the Central Committee on breakthrough development of science and technology.
He expressed his belief that in the coming time, this network will grow stronger and stronger and contribute effectively to the country's common goals and strategies in the field of breakthrough development in science and technology, contributing to the successful implementation of the goals of the Party and State on helping Vietnam develop rapidly, take off and catch up with the scientific and technological powers.
Associate Professor Vu Viet Hung, Canadian Military Technical Academy - Representative of the CVSE Network Management Board, shared that the first motto is to create a forum to promote contact between scientists of the two countries, while taking advantage of Canada's pioneering development direction to be able to apply and bring back to the country to develop the economy and science and technology.
Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, an AI expert at Mila Institute - a member of the CVSE Network, believes that this network is one of the very good and necessary places for Vietnam to catch up with the world in science and technology, especially in terms of knowledge.
He believes that this network will bring the most positive things to Vietnam in the future, especially in technology transfer as well as connecting Vietnam with international friends in this field.
Vietnam-Canada relations are growing, with science and technology being one of the seven priority areas. The launch of this network will make certain contributions to promoting cooperation in science, technology and innovation between the two sides.
With the correct policies of the Party and State, and the active support of the Science and Technology Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in Canada, the CVSE Network, which gathers many leading experts in science and technology from the host country, will develop professionally and strongly to maximize its capabilities and contribute more to Vietnam to realize its aspiration of becoming a rich and developed country./.
