At the ceremony to honor teams with high achievements in international STEM and robotics tournaments held at the National Innovation Center (NIC Hoa Lac), Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung affirmed that the Party, State, schools, and organizations will support STEM development; at the same time, he hopes that teachers will always accompany students to create a vibrant STEM learning movement that spreads throughout the country.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution taking place strongly, preparing high-quality human resources in STEM fields is a strategic requirement.
In the world, STEM education has become an inevitable trend, considered the most important pillar of modern education. Governments are racing to invest in integrated education programs, promote research activities, apply science and technology and encourage innovation in curriculum from primary to university and postgraduate levels.
Thereby, equipping the young generation with basic skills to solve difficult, contemporary problems; from responding to climate change to adapting to the rapid development of science and technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI).

The Deputy Prime Minister said that Vietnam has issued many important policies to promote the development of education and training, especially in the field of STEM. These include Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development. These Resolutions of the Politburo have set out a number of outstanding solutions, demonstrating the determination to keep up with global trends, build a modern education system, and meet the development requirements of the new period.
Organizing and participating in domestic and international STEM and robotics competitions not only helps students have the opportunity to compete and develop comprehensive skills, but also contributes to building the image of an innovative and creative Vietnam, ready to integrate, "catch up, progress together and rise up" in the field of science and technology with developed countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that STEM is not just about numbers and theoretical lessons, but also a journey to nurture passion for science, inspire creativity and train team spirit for students.
Through STEM and robotics tournaments, children are trained in courage, will, problem-solving skills and, most importantly, the spirit of constantly learning and discovering new technological knowledge.
These are the qualities of the high-quality human resource generation that our country needs to realize its aspiration for rapid and sustainable development, and soon become a developed country.
The Deputy Prime Minister hopes that students will continue to nurture their passion for science, constantly learn and always be eager to discover new knowledge. No matter where they are playing - domestic or international, they will always carry with them national pride and the spirit of Vietnamese aspiration.
The Party, the State, schools, organizations supporting STEM development, and teachers will always accompany students to create a vibrant STEM learning movement that spreads throughout the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung hopes that STEM and robotics activities and movements in Vietnam will continue to grow and spread widely, contributing to training a young generation to be confident, courageous, and master technology to become global citizens.
