Ca Mau province invites experts to contribute opinions and solutions for educational development

On November 21, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province organized a seminar on "Improving the quality of Education and Training, current situation and directions for Ca Mau province" to implement Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of Education and Training.

Attending the seminar were Mr. Nguyen Ho Hai, Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Lu Quang Ngoi, Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee; People's Teachers, Meritorious Teachers; Veteran Teachers; speakers, education experts, and a large number of teachers and students in the province.

Ca Mau province currently has 772 educational institutions, including 216 kindergartens (20 non-public schools); 313 primary schools (4 non-public schools); 174 secondary schools; 53 high schools (1 non-public school), 8 continuing education - vocational education centers; 1 center for supporting the development of inclusive education; 6 colleges; 1 university (under the provincial People's Committee); 1 branch of a university outside the province located in the area ( Binh Duong University).

Regarding staff, the entire Ca Mau Education sector has 24,266 people (of which, preschool education has more than 4,000 people; primary education has 9,755 people; secondary education has 6,139 people; high school has 3,655 people; vocational education - continuing education has 144 people; college has 336 people and university has 211 people). Currently, the primary school teachers are most lacking in the following subjects: Fine Arts, English, Information Technology, Technology, Music, Physical Education.

The average score of the province's high school graduation exam subjects in 2025 is 6.00 points, ranking 2/5 compared to the Mekong Delta region, ranking 15/34 provinces and cities nationwide; the rate of students passing the high school graduation exam in 2025 is 99.37%.

Most of the schools in Ca Mau are now solidly built, with basic facilities that meet teaching and learning conditions. The whole province has 629/731 public kindergartens and primary schools that meet national standards, reaching a rate of 86.05%.

Ca Mau province is vigorously implementing the project of teaching 2 sessions/day, organizing boarding schools; building toilets and clean drinking water systems in schools, with the determination to completely complete these programs by 2027.

“We are proud of the great achievements of the provincial education sector, but we must also frankly admit that the Ca Mau education and training sector is facing many difficulties and limitations. The Provincial People's Committee organized a seminar to listen to the opinions of experts, education managers, and generations of teachers in identifying and correctly assessing the current situation, frankly acknowledging the difficulties and weaknesses; specifically identifying the bottlenecks, bottlenecks, and challenges...

From there, we clearly define the goals; set out tasks and solutions to innovate and improve the quality of comprehensive education: from preschool education, general education, vocational education to university education of the province, placed in the strategic vision of breakthrough development of education and training of the country, so that the provincial education sector can continue to rise and have strong development in the coming time", Mr. Nguyen Minh Luan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province emphasized.

At the seminar, many speakers and experts in the education sector presented papers, contributed ideas and discussed solutions to develop professional capacity for teachers in Ca Mau province; solutions to innovate higher education; vocational education; using AI in education; building a team of teachers to meet the requirements of digital transformation...

On this occasion, the leaders of Ca Mau province presented 12 gifts to teachers in difficult circumstances, each worth 3 million VND. The Vo Van Kiet Scholarship Fund awarded 50 scholarships to students with difficulties, each worth 1 million VND.
