On the final day of the 2025 Asian Muay Thai Championship, boxer Huynh Ha Huu Hieu defeated Klinpaka Somsri (Thailand) with a score of 3-0, bringing home the prestigious gold medal in the 45kg weight class for the Vietnamese team.

Huu Hieu's gold medal played an important role in helping Vietnam Muay win the overall title at the tournament, surpassing 24 other participating teams. The host team won a total of 14 gold medals (including 9 gold medals in the U23 category and 5 gold medals in the championship group), along with 16 silver medals and 16 bronze medals, far surpassing the two teams in the top 3, UAE (8 gold medals) and Kazakhstan (7 gold medals).

With the title of reigning world champion, Huu Hieu entered the match with confidence, quickly dominating with his signature kicks and precise hand-foot coordination. The female boxer "Oc Tieu" won 10-9 in the first round.

In the second and third rounds, Huu Hieu continued to dominate, continuously launching direct punches that quickly depleted his opponent's stamina. Despite Somsri's efforts to counterattack, the Vietnamese boxer still won 30-27.
