310km journey to break the limit on the 45th birthday of "Crazy School"

(NLDO) - "Crazy School" celebrated his 45th birthday with a 310km challenge, about half a million steps, and spread the "Support" message with the 5:30 community.

For three days, from October 1st to October 3rd, 2025, the Vietnamese running community will be focused on the extraordinary journey of amateur runner Nguyen Dinh Truong, nicknamed "Crazy Truong," as he chooses to celebrate his 45th birthday with an extraordinary challenge: conquering a continuous 310km distance.

This number not only holds significance related to the birthday but also symbolizes approximately half a million steps, representing perseverance and the desire to push one's limits.

Athlete Nguyen Dinh Truong is a familiar face in the marathon community. In June 2025, he was officially honored by the Vietnam Record Organization for his rare achievement: completing 47 marathons and ultramarathons in one year.

This achievement made him a symbol of perseverance and the "daring to be crazy" in pursuing his passion for running to the very end. And this 310km challenge once again affirms that spirit, while also opening up a new story of resilience and compassion.

What's remarkable is that this journey wasn't just Nguyễn Đình Trường's alone. He received support and encouragement from close friends, including the "extraordinary" Nguyễn Văn Long - who has run across Vietnam three times - as well as the unwavering support and encouragement from the 5h30 running community and athletes from many other clubs across the country.

Many members directly participated, provided support, or ran alongside to encourage "Crazy Truong" on the challenging course at the "Sala running sanctuary" in Ho Chi Minh City.

Furthermore, the participation, companionship, and support of veteran members/managers such as journalists Ngo Cong Quang, Nguyen Van Tinh, Trieu Tien Luyen, Vo Tien Thanh... from the 5h30 community transformed Nguyen Dinh Truong's 310km journey into a more meaningful event: it was not only a personal milestone but also a convergence of community spirit, of people always ready to encourage each other to overcome limitations.

With each step, Nguyen Dinh Truong also conveyed a humanitarian message: "Supporting" a special situation - Ms. LNP (residing in Ho Chi Minh City, receiving treatment at Binh Duong General Hospital) who had to have her hand transplanted to her leg to continue her journey through life.

By linking his personal journey with an inspiring story, he wants to spread positive energy, encourage the community to share, support, and motivate those facing daunting challenges.

But knowing his personality, I supported and accompanied Mr. Truong throughout his journey to conquer this extremely long trip. And I am very happy and proud that Mr. Truong has achieved his goal."

At the age of 45, instead of a normal birthday party, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Truong chose to mark a milestone in his life with a 310km challenge. Starting at exactly 3 PM on October 1st, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Truong completed his goal of reaching 310km at 11:33 PM on October 3rd, 2025, on his 45th birthday.
