After analyzing the score distribution of subjects and the average score of the 2025 high school graduation exam, Dr. Le Anh Duc, Head of Training Management Department, National Economics University, predicted that in terms of considering high school graduation exam scores, the admission scores to schools may be lower than in 2024, by about 2-3 points.
As for the National Economics University, Mr. Duc predicted that the benchmark score could decrease by 1-2 points, depending on the group of majors/training programs.
This year, the school will consider the 2025 high school graduation exam results with 4 groups, including A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, Literature, English), D07 (Math, Chemistry, English). The fact that all of these groups have Math ensures relative fairness for candidates. The threshold to ensure input quality with this method is 20 points.
Mr. Duc advised candidates not to rely on last year's benchmark scores to set their wishes. The reason is that this year, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training , all schools must convert the scores of methods and combinations to a common scale. For example, in 2024, the benchmark score for a major could be 26 points, based on the number of quotas reserved for a combination, but this year it is only 25 points after conversion.

MSc. Truong Thi Ngoc Bich, Director of the Information and Communication Center of the University of Economics and Finance, Ho Chi Minh City, also predicted that this year's university admission scores will have many fluctuations, especially in combinations of Math and English such as A00, A01 and D01.
According to Ms. Ngoc, in hot majors with high benchmark scores such as Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Marketing, etc., benchmark scores are expected to "cool down", instead of increasing sharply like previous years.
"Although the benchmark score is expected to decrease slightly, candidates should not be subjective. Because the decrease in benchmark scores does not mean that the admission process will become less competitive. In fact, the 2025 high school graduation exam score distribution shows that many subjects still have high average scores, such as Economic and LegalEducation - a subject used in the new admission combinations," Ms. Bich noted.
Based on the 2025 high school graduation score spectrum announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance determined the score for receiving applications based on the high school graduation exam score is 15 points, high school transcript score is 18 points, Ho Chi Minh City National University's competency assessment test score is 600/1,200 points, V-SAT score is 225/450 points. Regarding the school's benchmark score this year, Ms. Ngoc predicted that it could decrease slightly compared to 2024 by 1-2 points depending on the major/training program.
This year, the University of Economics and Law, Ho Chi Minh City National University, will consider 6 groups: A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry), A01 (Math, Physics, English), D01 (Math, Literature, English), D07 (Math, Chemistry, English), X25 (Math, English, Economic and Legal Education), X26 (Math, English, Information Technology). According to Mr. Cu Xuan Tien, Head of the Admissions and Student Affairs Department of the school, with the 2 main admission subjects being Math and English, the school's standard score is expected to decrease by 0.5-1.5 points compared to last year.
According to Mr. Tien, due to the large difference in admission scores between the groups, the school's admissions board is analyzing and considering adjustment methods to ensure the rights of candidates. Information on the floor score and the school's standard score conversion formula will be announced no later than July 23.
This person also advised candidates not to worry too much about the fluctuating admission scores. Because according to the new admission regulations, all methods must be considered simultaneously (early admission is eliminated), and the equivalent admission score is converted, so the chance of being admitted by considering high school graduation exam scores will be higher than last year.
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, the Director of the school's Admissions and Communications Center predicted that the school's benchmark score would range from 17-23 points, about 1-2 points lower than in 2024.
Specifically, the majors that decreased by 1-2 points include: Marketing, International Business, Chinese Language, English Language, Information Technology... With the majors Logistics and Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Food Technology... decreased by 1 point or less. Other training majors kept the same score as last year.
