Nathan Tjoe-A-On is ready to make his debut for the Indonesian national team
"Football fans in Indonesia are great and kind. I once watched a match live in Indonesia and felt their passion. That made me want to play for the Indonesian national team," Nathan Tjoe-A-On, who is currently on loan from Swansea City to Heerenveen, told the Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI) website. The 22-year-old defender believes the future of Indonesian football is bright and he hopes to play a role in that progress by helping the team achieve even greater success.
Nathan Tjoe-A-On assessed that with the potential and current players, Indonesian football will develop in the next 2 to 5 years, and pledged to contribute his best to help the national team achieve rapid progress.
Nathan Tjoe-A-On had previously completed naturalization proceedings.
Despite having to compete with Pratama Arhan for Indonesia's left-back position, Nathan Tjoe-A-On is confident that his skills and experience playing in Europe will make him a player that coach Shin Tae-yong can trust.
This is certainly good news for the Indonesian team before the decisive match against Vietnam on March 21, as key defender Pratama Arhan has not been on the field regularly since joining Suwon Club (South Korea).
