Indonesia, who had qualified for the knockout stages after two wins over South Korea and Yemen, headed into the final match against Afghanistan in a relaxed mood. Their superiority in skill and mentality allowed them to easily overwhelm their opponents. The team created a series of chances.

They led the group with overwhelming statistics, were the only team in Group C to win all matches (2nd in the tournament next to Uzbekistan), were the team that scored the most goals in Group C and had the best defense in the tournament with only 1 goal conceded.
