According to a report from DigiTimes, the iPhone 16 Pro will be equipped with a metalens lens to replace the previous traditional lenses. Metalens is a type of lens with an ultra-thin design, much lighter than conventional lenses. Not only does it reduce the size of the camera system, metalens also helps improve image quality, maintaining accuracy when recognizing faces.
Traditional lenses previously required multiple lens layers, which made the iPhone's camera system bulkier and heavier. With Metalens, Apple could effectively solve this problem.

The metalens lens, developed by Apple partners ViesEra and Asia Optical, is not only compact but also has the ability to absorb polarized light. This helps reduce aberration, a common problem with traditional lenses.
Another advantage of Metalens is the potential to integrate FaceID under the screen. This technology could give Apple the ability to create devices with truly edge-to-edge screens, without the need for “notches” or other cut-out designs. This is a promising direction, not only bringing high aesthetics but also improving the user experience.
Not only stopping at improving FaceID, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max are expected to be equipped with many new technologies, notably a larger screen, using the powerful A18 Pro chip, supporting Wi-Fi 7 and 5G Advance connectivity. In addition, the device's cooling system will also be improved thanks to the use of graphene material, helping the device operate more efficiently over a long period of time.
Another notable point is that Apple will likely equip a force-sensing shutter button on the right side on all iPhone 16 versions, providing a more realistic and accurate photo-taking feel.
