According to the latest reports, the iPhone 17 will mark a major step forward in mobile photography technology with a completely new camera system, including three 48 MP lenses for the first time in Apple's history.

Specifically, leak expert Digital Chat Station on Weibo said that both iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max versions will be equipped with a main lens, an ultra-wide lens, and a Tetraprism lens with a resolution of 48 MP, a strong upgrade compared to the iPhone 16 Pro. Moreover, the combination of glass and plastic in the lens design promises to improve image quality while maintaining a compact design.
In particular, the new Tetraprism lens will feature an advanced prism structure that reduces the thickness of the camera module, improves zoom capabilities and image quality, and optimizes performance in low light conditions - an important factor for night photography enthusiasts.
The selfie camera on the iPhone 17 Pro has also been upgraded.
Not only the rear camera, the front camera of the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will also be upgraded to 24 MP, with a 6-piece lens design that promises to bring sharpness and superior selfie performance compared to current models, which only have 12 MP.
The front camera of the iPhone 17 Pro also has an upgraded sensor of 24 MP.
In addition to the camera improvements, the iPhone 17 Pro will feature a completely new design with a back made of half aluminum and half glass, along with a rectangular camera module. This change is intended to differentiate the Pro models from other devices in Apple's lineup.
Apple is also expected to ditch the "Plus" model and replace it with a new, thinner device tentatively called the iPhone 17 Air to solidify its strategy of offering a competitive product line.
The iPhone 17 models are expected to launch in September 2025 as an annual release tradition of Apple. With significant improvements in photography technology and design, the iPhone 17 Pro promises to create a major turning point in the mobile industry.
