(CLO) Iran has unveiled an underground missile storage facility and claimed to be developing "new special" missiles, according to the Tasnim news agency affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
Video aired on state-run IRIB television showed IRGC commander Major General Hossein Salami and Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh touring the facility, with Hajizadeh describing the site as a "sleeping volcano."

According to Mehr news agency, part of Iran's operations against Israel in October and April were carried out from this underground missile base. At an event in the city of Abadan, Salami also announced that the IRGC Aerospace Force is developing "new special" missiles.
Earlier, on January 6, the commander of Khatam al-Anbia Air Defense Base said that a series of new air defense systems had been installed near sensitive locations in the country.
Notably, during the ongoing "Payambar-e Azam 19" exercise, the IRGC is expected to unveil "underground cities containing missiles and drones," as well as a ship-keeping facility in southern Iran.
In addition, Iran has deployed the "Nazir" over-the-horizon radar system to enhance its defense capabilities against air and missile attacks, helping to detect targets at long distances and minimize the risk of surprise attacks.
