Opinions at the meeting stated that the escalating conflict in the Middle East has directly affected the economic situation and many other aspects of the world. Among them, oil and energy prices have increased; transportation and world trade have been affected; there is a risk of increased inflation, etc.
How does the conflict in the Middle East affect Vietnam?
This affects the Vietnamese economy, especially in terms of transportation and import and export of goods, although the economic, trade and investment relations between Vietnam and the Middle East are not large.
In conclusion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the spirit of not being passive or surprised but always being ready for very rapid, complicated and unpredictable developments. Although the developments have a great impact on Vietnam in terms of growth, prices, exchange rates, capital flows, transportation costs, logistics, supply chain disruptions, production and business.
At the same time, businesses may face many difficulties, consumption in some countries may shrink, including many major markets and trading partners of Vietnam.
However, he believes that timely grasping and assessing the situation requires quick, flexible, timely, appropriate and effective responses. Because although the situation is difficult and challenging, there are also opportunities and advantages that require economic restructuring in a green, fast and sustainable direction.
The Head of Government emphasized that the growth target will not change but will always be steadfast and promote achievements to respond to sudden developments and emerging issues. Implement the policy of building an independent and self-reliant economy associated with active, proactive, deep, substantive and effective integration.
