Isak can go to Al-Hilal. |
According to FootMercato and Gulf Times , the Swedish striker has given the green light to move to Al-Hilal. This move comes in the context of Liverpool and many other teams in Europe wanting to recruit Isak this summer.
Isak joined Newcastle from Real Sociedad in 2022 for a club-record fee of £63m and has since proved his worth with 27 goals in all competitions last season, including a crucial strike in the League Cup final as Newcastle won their first major trophy in 50 years.
Isak's impressive form has attracted attention from several big clubs, but an offer from Al-Hilal could offer a lucrative financial deal, along with the chance to experience a new football environment in the Middle East.
Isak's revelation of his intention to move to Saudi Arabia also caused controversy, because previously, Newcastle's owner, the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF), took a tough stance that he would not let Isak leave the team.
However, both Newcastle and Al-Hilal are owned by PIF, and many believe that Isak's move to Saudi Arabia could be a "money injection" for the English team. Previously, the "Magpies" were said to have received a £120 million offer from Liverpool for Isak.
Isak has yet to sign a new contract with the Magpies, with the 25-year-old reportedly on £130,000 a week at Newcastle. The 25-year-old striker is reportedly frustrated that the club have not delivered on their promise to offer him a new contract with a higher salary.
If he moves to Al-Hilal, Isak could earn three or even four times his £130,000-a-week salary at Newcastle.
