Jamie Lynn Spears is opening up about her relationship with sister Britney Spears.
Jamie Lynn talks about looking up to her sister from a young age. "Whatever my sister did, I always thought was the best. She's 10 years older than me and has been famous since I was 6 or 7," she admits.
When asked "is it true that you don't get along with Britney now?", Jamie simply replied: "I love my sister."
One of the biggest controversies in Jamie Lynn's life has been her strained relationship with her sister. Despite their age gap, Britney and Jamie Lynn - who recently competed on Dancing with the Stars - had a close bond growing up in their hometown of Kentwood, Louisiana.

For much of their lives and careers, Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn supported each other and worked on projects together, including Britney's debut film, Crossroads (2002). But in recent years, their relationship has become strained after Britney's father's 13-year conservatorship of Britney ended. The two have publicly clashed over the release of Jamie Lynn's memoir , Things I Should Have Said: Family, Fame and Figuring it Out, due in January 2022.
"I love and support my sister and always will. Obviously this is a painful process and I have to respect how she is going through the conservatorship," Jamie Lynn told People two months after Britney was released from her father's custody.
In Britney Spears' shocking memoir The Woman In Me , released in October 2023, Britney opened up about the troubled relationship between the two sisters.
The two have been close since childhood.
"Jamie Lynn knew I would reach out to her for help. I felt like she should have been on my side," Britney shared about being admitted to a mental health facility in 2018.
The music star also expressed her opinion that Jamie Lynn profited from her misfortune. "When I was fighting to get out of the conservatorship and getting a lot of press attention, she wrote a book to capitalize on that. She released salacious stories about me, hurtful and angry," Britney shared in her memoir.
However, Britney Spears also wrote that she hoped her relationship with Jamie Lynn could be saved. "Jamie has always been my sister and I love her and her family. I'm trying to feel compassion rather than anger towards her and all the people who I feel have wronged me," the Hold Me Closer singer said.
