Speaking at a press conference ahead of the 2025 Rome Masters, Jannik Sinner shared: "Rome Masters is not a tournament I set high goals for. I just want to get past the first round and feel the pace of the game again. The big goal is Roland Garros at the end of this month."

Jannik Sinner was banned for 3 months for doping, he missed 4 major tournaments Indian Wells, Miami Open, Monte Carlo and Madrid Open this year. The Italian tennis player returned in time for the 2025 Rome Masters on home soil and had the best preparation before Roland Garros at the end of May.
According to the draw results, the world number one will play Mariano Navone or Federico Cina in the first round and could face the reigning Madrid Open champion, Casper Ruud, in the quarter-finals.
Sinner shared his feelings during the 3 months of being banned from competing: "That period was a nightmare. I couldn't attend or even watch an AC Milan football match, nor could I follow my friends in car races. I was isolated from sports activities.
There were times when I thought about giving up. But the support from my family, plus the Australian Open title, kept me going. I took a month off from tennis to find inspiration again and now I'm ready."
According to experts, Jannik Sinner is rated higher than the reigning Rome Masters champion, Alexander Zverev and Monte Carlo champion, Carlos Alcaraz in the race for the ATP Masters 1000 title this year in Italy. Djokovic will not participate in the Rome Masters 2025 to focus fully on Roland Garros 2025.
