Extending the writing contest on sovereignty and the photo contest "Sacred National Flag"

The two competitions extended the submission deadline to April 30, 2026.

In order to continue promoting propaganda, raising awareness of preserving and firmly protecting the seas, islands and national territory of Vietnam; further spreading patriotism and national pride among the people, the Editorial Board of the Lao Dong Newspaper decided to extend the time of the 5th writing contest "Inviolable national sovereignty " and the 4th photo contest "Sacred national flag" in 2024-2025.

Accordingly, the two competitions have extended the deadline for receiving entries until April 30, 2026. The award ceremony is expected to be held on the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the Lao Dong Newspaper implementing the program "Pride of the National Flag" (June 1, 2019 - June 1, 2026).

In phase 1, from the launch date on July 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, the 5th "Inviolable National Sovereignty" writing contest received more than 200 entries.

The contest attracted a large number of participants, from teachers, students, artists to researchers, officers, soldiers of the Navy, Coast Guard, and Border Guard. The Organizing Committee evaluated the entries as diverse in genre and theme, vividly reflecting the work of protecting the sovereignty of seas and islands, protecting national borders and territories. Many entries were in-depth, of good quality, and were carefully invested.

From more than 200 entries, the Organizing Committee carefully evaluated and selected 33 entries to be introduced on the Sea and Islands - Borders page of the Lao Dong Newspaper, published every Sunday.

For the 4th "Sacred National Flag" photo contest, after nearly a year of launching, it continues to attract a large number of readers to participate, becoming a prestigious photography "playground" for authors to show their talents.

The content of the works submitted to the contest is very diverse, closely following the contest theme, meticulously invested and carefully presented. Many photos capture emotional moments, creating emotions for viewers. There are valuable photos that show the sacredness and heroism of the national flag, and at the same time, through the image of the national flag, highlight patriotism, national pride, and the sense of responsibility of each citizen in protecting the sovereignty of the Fatherland.

From July 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, the Organizing Committee received 1,240 single photos and 50 photo collections from authors across the country. The Organizing Committee selected more than 186 single photos and 13 photo collections to be published on the online Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.

The writing contest "Inviolable national sovereignty" and the photo contest "Sacred national flag" are two of the major contests, associated with the program "Proud of the national flag" that have been and are being implemented by the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper nationwide. By extending the organization time to 2026, the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper aims to increase the scale of the two contests, hoping to continue to attract more readers to participate.
